Norwegian Air Expands Routes from Chicago and Denver

Norwegian Air the World’s Best Low-Cost Long-Haul Airline, will add three more nonstop routes from the United States to Europe next summer: Chicago to both Paris and Rome; and from Denver to Rome. All three routes will be summer seasonal.

Norwegian’s traffic figures for October shows an increased unit revenue for the seventh consecutive month and was up six percent compared to the same month previous year. The load factor was up by more than two percent.

Norwegian now operates three routes from San Francisco International Airport (SFO), as Barcelona and Paris services has followed the London service that moved from Oakland International Airport in late March. The airline’s first flight from San Francisco to Paris commenced on October 27, with its Barcelona service on October 28.

Norwegian will add nonstop Austin to Paris service for the summer 2020 season. The airline will be the first to offer two nonstop European destinations from Austin and the first-ever to the French capital. Flights will operate three times a week, starting May 6, 2020, with fares as low as $219.90 in Economy, one-way, including taxes, and as low as $829.90 in Premium, one-way, inclusive of taxes.

Norwegian Air will discontinue its transatlantic routes originally operated by the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft this September. The decision follows months of substitute aircraft and wetlease operations covering the airline’s routes due to the global grounding of the 737 MAX aircraft. There are no changes to the 46 routes operated by the Dreamliner from the United States to Europe.
