Norwegian will resume its seasonal service from San Juan to Europe in November following a successful first winter season. The St. Croix-Copenhagen route will also return. The world’s fastest-growing global airline launched flights from San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport to London, Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm, and from St. Croix to Copenhagen last November.

Norwegian carried 244,000 more passengers in February. Production growth, high load factor and increased passenger growth had a positive effect on Norwegian’s February traffic figures. The company carried almost 1.9 million passengers in February, an increase of 15 percent compared to February last year. The load factor was 85.6 percent, up 0.8 percentage points.

The company reported a high load factor throughout 2015, which averaged at 86 percent. The pre-tax result improved by 1.7 billion Norwegian kroner ($200 million), compared with last year.

Norwegian, the World’s Best Low-Cost Long-Haul Airline and Europe’s Best Low-Cost Airline, will open its 15th European base at Rome Fiumicino Airport on March 27, 2016. New routes from the U.S. to the Caribbean and domestic routes in Spain had a positive effect on passenger figures in January. Norwegian carried more than 1.7 million passengers last month, a considerable increase compared to January last year. The load factor was 81.7 percent, up 1.7 percentage points.
